We are connected, Heart To Heart

Heart to Heart is a support program providing guidance and assistance to families affected by congenital heart defects in Maine. We are a non profit program focused on and directed by parents. We do not offer medical advice; instead we aim to strengthen the emotional impact that CHD can have on an individual and the family.

Our History

Heart to Heart was created in response to our own experiences with having a child with a congenital heart defect. We decided after going through these experiences that a family focused support program in Northern New England might help guide other families who are going through similar experiences. We secured funding through a private foundation, met with our local pediatric cardiologists and began the initial stages of creating a non profit organization. Read more about our story and others on our stories page. We officially opened in January of 2013 and intend to support the congenital heart defect community, spread awareness of this #1 birth defect and strengthen the bond between the medical community and their patients. Dedicated to the nurses, doctors and medical staff who have cared for our daughter and in gratitude to our family and friends who have provided an endless amount of love and support to us and to all of the other families who have been affected by CHD we are happy to introduce Maine's CHD family support group, Heart to Heart.
